ABOUT US

The Initial Idea

The idea of establishing an academic exchange platform available to young scholars to communicate and discuss came to Yueming while she was struggling with an interdisciplinary issue on investment law, international law on state responsibility, criminal law, and economics. Yueming shared this idea with her friends, Huai and Guiqiang, and they officially launched the Transnational Law Frontiers (TNLF) on February 26th, 2021.

TNLF is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a community for young scholars to communicate, collaborate, and contribute to legal scholarship. Since its announcement, more than one hundred junior legal scholars have joined us, covering a wide range of legal areas, including civil law, commercial law, criminal law, financial law, public international law, private international law, international economic law, law and technology, etc. Our WeChat official account now has more than two thousand followers. Our 2021 speakers and participants include doctoral students, post-doc fellows, and lecturers/assistant professors from universities and research institutions in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China. We invite all young scholars from the globe to join us.

Our events include expert talks, seminars, roundtables, and workshops. We aim to provide young scholars with opportunities to exchange thoughts, present their research, conduct interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies, and enhance research and presentation skills. We also welcome reviews and comments on cutting-edge legal research and topics.
